How much gets finished will be up to the individual… You will understand this easy process and should have enough blocks by the end of the day for a wall hanging or baby quilt. Materials (first, choose your personal style): Scrappy #Strips of fabric any width or length, any color, leftovers from other strip technique projects #Fat quarters or more of your favorite fabrics, in a variety of scale, color and value #Fat quarter of a zinger fabric or novelty fabric you would like as the center square of all blocks OR Dark/Light Traditional color scheme #Fat quarters or more of several fabrics in each of two highly-contrasting colors (example: light blues and dark browns) #Fat quarter of a stand-out fabric for center squares of all blocks AND Either style #1 yard cotton or cotton/poly batting (to finish your project - optional to bring it on class day) #1 yard of any fabric for backing (same as above) #Threads to match your color scheme, or neutral gray thread Equipment: #Sewing machine in good working order, and I suggest a walking foot #Stiletto (or long-handled seam ripper) #Extension cord, personal light (optional but recommended) #Rotary cutter, mat and ruler (large set in classroom, handy to have small ones of your own) #Six-inch square rotary-cutting ruler (label your belongings - they all look alike!) #Basic sewing and note-taking supplies Mary will have a stash of miscellaneous strips to share!
