Work in Progress
This is work so new that I may still be working on it at this moment. Check back from time to time, and see what's up!
Life interrupts quilting, and then sometimes we go off in an entirely different direction! This is a banner recently completed for Trinity Lutheran Church in Herrin, Illinois.

Applique' of human hands grasping the garment of Jesus constitutes the central technique, and message, of this banner in progress.

This (shown unfinished) piece was made in response to a guild challenge called "Rhapsody in Red". Eight of the pieces made by Shawnee Quilters of Southern Illinois went to the AQS Nashville Quilt Expo in August, 2005! My "Wrap Sody in Red" was one of them. When you visit again, I will have a picture of the completed quilt.

This fabric tree was put on hold due to our remodeling project. It was the first thing on my agenda after my new studio was operational, and I love working on it! Foundation paper-pieced on 6-inch squares of tracing paper, this tree will grow as large as "it" wants to be!! Scroll on down to see how it's coming....

This work-in-progress is an example of the "Can't See the Forest for the Trees" technique, which allows you to applique' and quilt in one easy operation! Using as few as two commercially-printed cottons, you can make a quilt as unique as "Gone in a Moment II", a framed piece which was purchased for Altgeld Hall on the campus of SIU. You can learn how to do this in only 3 hours!

The following two landscapes use traditional quilting techniques to produce non-traditional results! Using the sewing skills already in your personal "bag of tricks", you can compose and sew original, unique fabric pictures. Link to Workshops & Lectures to see how!
